Internet Home Business Training – How To Do A Free Consultation On The Phone

-

-

In this video, I will show you how to set up and conduct a free consultation over the phone. This free consultation is not a sales call, you will not offer anything. So, you can relax.

Setting The Appointment

In your first call, you will just introduce yourself and set an appointment for your consultation. For this, you need to establish your own credentials and the purpose of your call right away.

You say something like this:

Hello, may I speak with Ed Miller?

Ed, this is Kai Druhl. I have a web site on maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, and you came to my site yesterday to request some information.

The purpose of my call is to offer you a free consultation, where I can help you to find a solution that fits your needs. Is this of interest to you?

If no, say thank you and goodbye..

If yes, suggest a time within a day or two. Say

It will take about 30 minutes. I am available tomorrow and the day after in the evening. What will work best for you?

Confirm the time, thank him and goodbye.

So, this is all for our first call.

The Goal Of Your Consultation

Now let’s look at the actual consultation.

You have two main goals

  • First, you want to learn as much as you can about your prospects views and issues, concerning the topic at hand. This is very valuable market information.
  • Second, you want to build a consulting relationship based on understanding and trust.

See yourself as a mentor, someone who is there to help and counsel. This call is all about your prospect needs and desires.

Remember, just listen to what your prospect is telling you. Do not try to sell anything. If your product is a good fit for your prospect, you can bring it in effortlessly. If not, trying to sell is of no use anyway.

Conducting Your Free Consultation

So, lets talk about how to go about it.

On your second call, you first confirm that the time is still open and convenient.

Also, confirm the topic of your call. If this is about a health and wellness topic, start with a disclaimer. Say:

Ed, before we are looking at how you can maintain healthy cholesterol levels, I want to make sure you understand that I am not a physician, and I cannot give you any advice about how to cure or prevent any disease. If you suspect that you have a medical condition, I urge you to seek the help of a physician.

My role will be to help you make educated choices about how to support your body in its normal function.

Do we agree on that?

To get your prospect to talk, ask some background questions, such as

  • Ed, What do you want to accomplish?
  • Why is that important to you?
  • How long have you been dealing with this?
  • What kind of solutions have you tried?
  • What was the result?
  • How much money are you spending every month?
  • What has been your greatest challenge?
  • What would a perfect solution look like to you?

Brainstorm with your prospect about possible solutions to his needs. Listen to what he comes up with. Acknowledge all he says, even if it does not include your product.

Help to find a solution most appealing to your prospect. Offer support with that solution; be creative.

If your product applies, ask if he is open to look at your presentation. If yes, set up a time for the presentation.

So, this is all. As you can see, it is not all that difficult. The main thing is that you get started. You will quickly become comfortable with building relationships over the phone, and this is a key to success in your business.
