Finding Keywords For Your Landing Page
To build your lead capture page, you will be using the Internet Starter Kit that is part of this course. In this kit, I am giving you a template that contains most of the content for your lead capture page.
All you need to do is to add a single keyword phrase. This is a sequence of words that people in your target market may type into a search box. Examples are “relief from migraine headaches,” or “natural weight loss.” Therefore, your goal in this lesson is to understand the main problems in your target market and to find a few good keyword phrases.
Attraction Marketing Reviewed
Let us first review the basic approach of Attraction Marketing.
In AM, you are planning to attract customers to you. That means, you want to deal with people who have a problem, a need, a desire, and who are actively looking for a solution. Ideally, these people will find you and contact you, because they see you as an expert and as a person they can trust.
Offering a product or service or opportunity by itself is not enough, because there are hundreds of others that are offering the same things. Rather, you need to offer some unique value, something that positions you as the expert of choice.
When you begin to build your business, it is much easier for you to establish yourself as an expert with your products or services than with your opportunity. This is why we will focus on seeking a target market for one of your products.
Why You Need A Target Market
A target market is made of people who share common needs or desires. You need to focus on a specific target market for two reasons:
1. People in a target market are more likely to respond to solutions.
2. They are more likely to buy.
3. It is much easier for you to become an expert in a narrow target market than in a broad general market.
Find Your Target Market
To find your target market, you first need to select one single product, and one single benefit. Choose a product that you are excited about, that is giving you great results. Look for a benefit that you and others have experienced, that has made a difference in your lives.
Your ideal prospect is someone who is willing to pay for the benefit you have selected, for example. Start by looking at customer testimonials and marketing materials from your company which is supplying the product. You are looking for benefits that customers are mentioning repeatedly.
Another source of information is at online forums and groups. Make a note of issues that keep coming up.
Keyword Research
Your next step is to find a good keyword phrase. A keyword phrase is a sequence of words that people from your target market may type into a search box, to find information. An example is “weight loss”
Short phrases have a lot of searches, but many of those searches may be just general research. These people are less likely to become leads. They correspond to a broad market.
Longer phrases have less searches, but are more likely to generate leads.
The idea is to start with a general, short phrase, and let the market tell you what longer phrases are popular. We will look at two places for keyword research: the article directory EzineArticles and the search engine Google.
